You are picked up from the airport by one of our welcoming staff.
When you arrive at the hostel you will be shown around and given a map of the area where you can walk to the beach, shops, bars, restaurants ect.
You will have the day at your own leisure
17:30: BBQ at the hostel where you can meet all the other guests, staff and locals
Stay in 4 star accommodation in a dorm room at SaltyCrax BackpackersDay 2:
8:30: Breakfast at SaltyCrax Backpackers
9:00: Learn about the Cape Town bus transport system from Table View to town with your friendly local guide.
10:00: Arrive in Cape Town centre and walk to Cape Town Tourism centre in the Heart of the city.
10:30: Start your guided tour on foot though Cape Town centre past historical sights like the Castle of Good Hope, Grand Parade, and slavery sites like the Slave Lodge and Slave Tree. At the Parliament Buildings and District Six Museum you will hear about apartheid and get to understand the effects of racism and discrimination on the lives of ordinary South Africans.
In Greenmarket Square and St. George’s Mall, you will feel the energy and pulse of the new South Africa – something you simply cannot experience from inside a bus. You will feel our enthusiasm and hope for the future of our dynamic new democracy.
14:00: Take another bus or walk to the Victoria Alfred waterfront where you can watch the ships pass by in the busy working harbour and sit back and sip on a cocktail while enjoying some fresh fish or take a walk around the bustling shops, markets and musicians along the sidewalks.
16:00: After getting a taste of what Cape Town is all about we head back on the local buses to Table View where you can start planning your next day. We will help you book and arrange what ever you need.
18:00: Join the staff, your guide, guests and the locals at one of the restaurants or bars in table view along the beach front rolling distance from the hostel where you will be staying the nightTours can be custom made and change eg: adding Table Mountain or Robben island or upgrading accommodation into double or private room.
