Recently here at SaltyCrax we accommodated large groups of Volunteers. They came from different parts of the world, mostly from American Universities. They are making a huge difference in the lives of young boys and girls from the surrounding informal settlement.
They were faced with a challenge of revamping and renovating a Grade R pre-school, they partook in a lot of different activities, such as hiking up Table Mountain, teaching these kids to swim and surfing. They really fell in love with kids.
After a hard working day in the settlement, they came back at the hostel, ate dinner cooked by the staff of SaltyCrax, Jennifer Darlington. They came here with a mission, and this was to complete all the tasks that were given to them by the Facilitator of the projects Carla Ferreira.
Julian Lello, also staff ,would whisk them away some nights to a night life in Blouberg, Table View were they danced, socialised, and laughed. We have a whole lot of events to offer our guest and will always go out and hunt for new ideas to make our guest feel happy. Cornelia George who is a registered Tourist Guide decided to introduce artistic taste into the itinerary; she took one group to a theatre festival which was running at the Baxter Theatre. They loved it to bits. Mama Africa is a restaurant in Cape Town with African Traditional food and live marimba band; it was a happy night out in Long Street.
They always have to come and go, but most of them promised to come back
