Day 1:
You are picked up from Cape Town International airport and taken to SaltyCrax Backpackers in Blouberg. Situated walking distance from Kite beach, transport terminals, restaurants, bars and shops.
For those early arrivals, you can spend the day either on a tour through Cape Town centre (optional extra) or just relaxing on the beautiful white beaches with picturesque views of Table Mountain.
5pm: Meet at the lodge for Orientation, then enjoy a traditional South African BBQ around the fire. After a good meal roll down to the local bars and pubs where you can spend the rest of the night at leisure.
Day 2:
9am: Full farm house breakfast is served in the dinning area
10am: Your qualified Kite surfing instructor from Wind Sports will meet you. He will take you to the world famous Kite beach with the most amazing backdrop of Table Mountain and a steady supply of wind and waves.
Your first day of lessons will begin with:
Lesson 1: Introduction to Kite boarding
Includes Safety, Equipment Setup, understanding the wind and land based flying
Lesson 2 Water Introduction
Includes Large kite handling, self launch and hopefully body dragging through the water.
Lesson 3 Water Skills
Includes Advanced body dragging, water re-launch and basic board skills..
4pm: After an exiting day of Kiting. You are taken back to the hostel.
6pm: Relax around the fire while a traditional South African Potjie (stew) is cooked up in front of you. The rest of the night is yours to find out what the local night life is up to.
Day 3:
9am: Full breakfast in served in dinning room.
10am: You are taken back to the beach for you last day of lessons which include:
Lesson 4 Board Basics
Includes First water starts on a board and first ride
Lesson 5 Supervised Riding and Tips
Includes Riding with power, change of direction and holding an edge
You are now an IKO accredited Kite surfer, you will receive a certificate and card allowing you to kite any where in the world.
4pm: Free time to show off your new moves or get ready to be taken back to the airport.
Package includes:
2 nights dormitory accommodation, Airport transfers, Meals as in example itinerary, Kite surfing lessons with certified I.K.O Instructor and Equipment rental.
Accommodation can be upgraded to doubles or En-suites at your own expense.
Please note: This tour is weather dependant and may need to be lengthened for completion. If the full course is not completed the balance of the course will be refunded.
